The goal of Magee General Hospital and Therapy Center Program is to provide residents, patients, employers, athletes, and workers throughout the area with quality rehabilitation and preventative programs in a caring and professional environment. Through our therapy department, patients can reach their maximum levels of function, self-care, independence and quality of life. Our therapists work closely with family members and caregivers to ensure carryover of learned skills and long-lasting functional improvements for the patient. Out therapists are committed to providing quality rehabilitation services through our team of specialists. Each therapist meets state and national certification, as well as licensure requirements for their positions. In addition, therapy services are performed in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art Outpatient Therapy Department. Physical Therapy Essential to any rehabilitation plan is Physical Therapy. Physical Therapists seek to restore strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and function following injury, surgery, illness or disease. Out therapists keep abreast of the newest techniques and the most innovative programs, while utilizing cutting-edge equipment. Speech Therapy The Speech Therapy program at Magee General Hospital Therapy Center offers services designed to restore communication abilities. Therapists develop individual treatment plans to best meet the needs of each patient. In addition to restoration of speech proficiency, a number of swallowing and eating programs are included in this therapy program. Occupational Therapy Managing day to day activities is a major goal as all of our care plans and therapy programs are created. The primary focus of Occupational Therapy is assisting patients as they master essential activities of daily living; returning individuals to their highest potential; and supporting patients as they gain skills to become self-sufficient. The Magee General Hospital Therapy Center provides treatment plans and a skilled staff to treat and encourage patients as they return to optimum capacity.
